Latrell Sprewell stepped up for the Wolves on Sunday scoring 23 points in a 112-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Six of those points came off two clutch three-pointers in the fourth quarter, both of which halted attempted comeback efforts by the Kings.

When asked about Spree’s contribution in a post game interview, Kevin Garnett said, “Our offense is kind-of crazy man.”

Averaging only eight points per game on the season, Latrell’s big game was a huge bonus for the desperate Wolves.

Minnesota maintained a one-point lead at halftime despite being out-rebounded 20-1 on offensive boards in the first half. Fortunately for them, the Kings were only shooting a measly 33%, while Minnesota shot a strong 55% from the field.

Kevin Garnett had a great game scoring 30 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Sam Cassell played a very unselfish game. He continually drew double coverage while driving into the paint, only to kick it out to the open man on the key. He led the Wolves with seven assists.

His presence on this team has been great lately, helping Minnesota win six of their last seven games.

No Minnesota fan has cheered for the Lakers since they moved to Los Angeles over 40 years ago, however tonight that will change. The Lakers are taking on the Memphis Grizzlies, and if they can find a way to win, Minnesota will be back within two games of that final play-off spot. Go Lakers!
