Final Thoughts On The 2008 NBA Draft
This year's draft was decidedly more calm and casual than the Oden/Durant showdown, which made for a more candid and personal experience.

With a late season run, the Timberwolves have a chance to earn a play-off birth. However, some adjustments in their line-up could be the determining factor. Getting to the playoffs alone isn’t enough, KG and the Wolves do not want another first round elimination.

There are several trades that could be made prior to the February 25th deadline that may be exactly what the Wolves need. Jason Kidd has recently expressed uncertainty and reluctance to sign another deal with the Nets, and word is that his agent has been talking with the Wolves administration. Kidd could be the new blood that the Wolves need to trigger a late season run.

For the Nets, a trade for Latrell Sprewell may be in line, and with Spree’s contract expiring at the end of this season, New Jersey will have some potential to make a few beneficial moves for next season. Kidd is looking to be traded to a team in title contention, and the Minnesota is just that team. Also, a trade with the Celtics could be on the horizon.

Rumors have been circulating that Gary Payton may not be a permanent fixture in Boston’s line-up. A trade of Sam Cassell for Payton could be a good move for both teams. When Cassell is healthy, he has better numbers than Payton which could be great for the Celtics offense. And Payton’s joining of the Wolves would add another veteran, and respected team leader to help out Garnett in his quest for a championship.
